Updates 12/13 - Sand Replenishment & Norfolk City MLK Event

In October 2023 the East Ocean View Civic League (EOVCL) wrote letters to our federal representatives requesting their support to secure funding for sand replenishment in the East Beach area ahead of the planned replenishment cycle scheduled for 2026.  In turn, both Senators Warner and Kaine contacted the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and asked for the Corp to consider expediting the required planning to complete the beach nourishment prior to 2026.

We are excited to share the news we just received that the USACE responded to both Senators indicating "their goal now is to advance the nourishment cycle one year earlier from FY 26 to FY 25."
