Visit Invest.gov To See How President Biden’s Agenda is Investing In Virginia

Dear East Ocean View,

For decades, the U.S. exported jobs and imported products, while other countries surpassed us in critical sectors like infrastructure, clean energy, semiconductors, and biotechnology. That is why we worked hard over the course of the 117th Congress (2021-2022) to enact President Biden’s Investing in America agenda. And now you can track the progress we have made by visiting Invest.gov, which the Biden-Harris Administration launched last week. This new website features interactive maps with national, state, and local data on the implementation of the Investing in America agenda, including the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. Invest.gov also provides data on new private investments that these laws helped generate in semiconductors, clean energy, electric vehicle batteries, and biomanufacturing. The website will be updated regularly as we continue our work to make sure that these programs and policies reach every American – no matter where they live.

As an example of the Investing in America agenda at work, earlier this month I joined Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, Norfolk Mayor Kenny Alexander and other officials for the signing of the project partnership agreement between the City of Norfolk and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the Coastal Storm Risk Management Project. This officially greenlights hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to boost community resilience to flooding. This is the culmination of years of hard work by local leaders and our congressional delegation, and it would not have been possible without President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Whether through building new roads and bridges, investing in airports, ports and rail, making coastal communities more resilient, lowering costs and expanding broadband access, or creating more jobs and other economic opportunities, we are delivering real results. Now, we must ensure that every community in Virginia and America feels the full impact of these legislative accomplishments. As always, I encourage all Third District residents to continue sharing their concerns and feedback with me by contacting my office or connecting with me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or YouTube. You can also sign-up to receive e-newsletters from my office by clicking HERE. Very truly yours, ROBERT C. "BOBBY" SCOTT Member of Congress
