Holiday Closures - City offices, libraries and recreation centers will be closed on Friday, December 23 through Monday, December 26, in observance of the Christmas holiday as well as Monday, January 2, for New Year’s Day.


Outdoor Dining - Want to know more about outdoor dining in the public-right-of-way in City Street or sidewalks, or on private property? Current outdoor dining regulations will be extended to April 30, 2023.

Dominion Energy Garden of Lights - Walk the Garden Aglow – Open from December 21 - December 31, 2022, from 5PM - 9PM at the Norfolk Botanical Garden. Enjoy a magical walk through the Garden’s award-winning showstopping lights. This holiday season immerse yourself in more than 1.5 million twinkling lights – a magical experience like no other in Coastal Virginia. There are more lights and more surprises! Many nights have already SOLD OUT! Look for illuminating color-changing trees, the sparkling Conifer Garden and the Garden’s historical NATO Tower drenched in lights. Plus, walk through the Mega tree – a great place to take a holiday selfie #nbglights. Complement your magical experience by purchasing a cup of hot cocoa or a holiday treat to enjoy during your walk. All proceeds help NBG fulfill their mission as a non-profit organization.


City of Norfolk Arts Commission - Proud to announce $225,024 in grant support to 30 local nonprofit arts organizations for fiscal year 2023. From youth orchestras to visual arts education, these organizations reach into every Norfolk neighborhood to give citizens of all ages the opportunity and access to enjoy quality arts and culture experiences.
