Norfolk City Neighborhood Updates

Ignite 2023! Speaker Series Our SECOND session is TONIGHT! We have two remaining opportunities for residents to come out and participate in great conversation and activities geared towards sparking your civic engagement. These speaker series events are free and open to the public.

Tucker Memorial Library Conduct healthy neighborhood conversations with both formal facilitation techniques and informal "fun-cilitation."

Good Organizational Practices with Carlos Clanton – Wednesday, April 26th at 6pm, Jordan-Newby at Broad Creek Library "Structure creates Freedom" is a good motto for organizational life. Learn how good structure improves group comradery.

FY24 Budget Check out the site of the Department of Budget and Strategic Planning to find links to the City Manager’s message, the proposed budget and view his March 28 presentation to Council. Residents who want to speak about budget issues can do so during the public hearing on April 19th at 6pm – Granby High School. Instructions on how to comment will be posted on the City Council’s webpage. This is the only public hearing on the budget, and the only time residents will be able to address council members directly during a public forum on budget items.


Norfolk Park and Recreation Events There’s a LOT of events happening around our communities and in our recreation center! Family game nights, Zumba classes, Bingo night, spring break camp and innovation hubs…wow! Take a look at the attached flyers for more information.

Keep Norfolk Beautiful KNB is encouraging Norfolk neighborhoods to participate in the Great American Cleanup through May 31st and their special Waste Collection event on April 15th at Norview High School. Check out the attached flyers for more info.


Clean Up Event at Northside Park Join Crossroads Civic League as they host a spring cleanup on Saturday, April 22nd. See the attached flyer for more details.

School Nutrition Event NPS School Nutrition will be at Crossroads Recreation Center to distribute free meals on Thursday, April 13th. See the attached flyer for more details and info.
