The Newby Foundation and the Historic First Baptist Church of Norfolk are partnering to sponsor another exciting day of community health and wellness at the Community Harvest Farmers Market! This farmers market brings locally grown fresh produce at reduced costs, promoting healthy eating and positive lifestyles. It’s a farmers’ market with a 4-H Focus: Health, Harvest, Help & Hope for our community!
Our first Community Harvest Farmers Market was held on July 15 and it was a huge success with over 300 people in attendance. Please check out the newsclip from the Wavy TV 10 coverage as well as a short YouTube video.

The most common question we received was, "when are you going to do this again"! Therefore, we have scheduled two more Community Harvest Farmers Markets this summer - Saturday 8/19 & Saturday 9/16, both from 9:00a - 12:00p in the Scope Parking Lot 201 E. Brambleton Ave in Norfolk.
Event Highlights:
Fresh Vegetables: Immerse yourself in a vibrant array of freshly harvested fruits and vegetables from local farms at (we repeat) a reduced cost! There will be approximately 20 different farm-to-table produce items to choose from!
Cooking Demonstrations: Learn innovative recipes, cooking techniques, and tips for incorporating wholesome ingredients into your daily meals. We will have tastings, recipe cards & videos so you can make the dish at home.
Healthy Eating Promotion: Engage in enlightening discussions and interactive activities focused on healthy eating.
Free Line Dancing Class: Let loose and dance your way to fitness with our high-energy Line Dancing!
Fresh Fruit Smoothies: Quench your thirst with delectable fruit smoothies made from the freshest, juiciest fruits of the season. Free smoothies for the first 100 people!
Free Health Screenings: It's important to Know Your Numbers!
Fun: Enjoy music, old-fashioned contests, prize giveaways and more!
We hope to see you there and tell a friend!
Thank you,
Lisa Jackson
