Community Harvest Farmers Market - July 15


The Newby Foundation, in partnership with The Historic First Baptist Church of Norfolk, Sentara, Healthier757 and the Virginia Beach Public Health Foundation, is sponsoring an exciting day of community health and wellness at the Community Harvest Market! This farmers market brings you locally grown fresh produce at reduced costs, promoting healthy eating and positive lifestyles. It’s a farmers' market with a 4-H Focus: Health, Harvest, Help & Hope for our community!   Event Highlights: Fresh Produce: Immerse yourself in a vibrant array of freshly harvested fruits and vegetables from local farms at (we repeat) a reduced cost! There will be close to 25 different produce items to choose from plus free-range eggs!   Cooking Demonstrations: Learn innovative recipes, cooking techniques, and tips for incorporating wholesome ingredients into your daily meals. We will have tastings, recipe cards & videos so you can make the dish at home.  Healthy Eating Promotion: Engage in enlightening discussions and interactive activities focused on healthy eating.   Free Public Zumba Course: Let loose and dance your way to fitness with our high-energy Zumba course!   Fresh Fruit Smoothies: Quench your thirst with delectable fruit smoothies made from the freshest, juiciest fruits of the season. Free smoothies for the first 100 people!   Free Health Screenings: Know your numbers with blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose level checks!   Fun: Enjoy music, old-fashioned contests, prize giveaways and more!  Event Details:
